Summer 2020 Road Trip
So, the time has come once again for my travel companion (and wife) Noi and I are taking a Summer adventure. The unique aspect to this journey, though, is that we are doing it in the midst of this strange pandemic that has affectionately been called The Corona Virus. Originally, we were planning to go to Arizona as part of a research project I am working on (that will now be extended a bit longer than originally expected) to do an autoethnography surrounding my experiences as a teacher and how these experiences have impacted the overall trajectory of my identity as a teacher. In fact, we are still doing a bit of that during this trip, which I will discuss when we get to the point in the trip where this is relevant. However, for now we are trying to decompress, and I am trying (in the midst of all of this) to get my blood pressure down and avoid another bout with the Gout.
Anyway, the picture at the top was taken in one of Idaho's seediest towns, Wallace. If you have not heard of Wallace, it is quite a unique town in that it had one of Idaho's longest running, sort of legal(ish) Houses of Prostitution. It also has a lot of unique old buildings, was the site of a famous movie, and makes claim to being the Center of the Universe (see images below).
After Wallace, we made our way to Missoula, Montana with really not much to document. There will be a lot more pictures in tomorrow's post, as we will do a bit of exploring in Missoula and the surrounding area. For now, enjoy a few more pictures from Wallace.
